Thanks for sticking with us on the journey so far. This week we’re going to be focusing on making the most of technology available to us at school: our Promethean Interactive Whiteboards.

Through hands-on tutorials, Novices will learn the basics of how to get started and Experts will advance their existing skills and create flipcharts to share with others.

We look forward to seeing what you create!

found this the most challenging and least fun, I create whiteboard pages for my class but never think they are interesting enough to share! And I am working on the whiteboard stuff from Mary (level after foundation) so didn’t tune into this one.

This was pretty tricky. Some parts in these questions required multiple viewing of the tutorials but I got their in the end.

This was a big one. Disproportionate to the previous sessions (take avatars for example). This was, to parallel with albums, Chinese Democracy, Sandanista, Kid A, or The White Album (including Revolution #9). Should have been introduced earlier in the piece, or outside of the unfruity Fridays (at this point I was bringing in a raw toasted cheesy for my Friday breakfast). However, this is also the most important one and the one with most ready applicational value.

Wish I had an IWB to have tried it out on, though.

oh boy it took soooo long!

but now i have a basic understanding of IWB and can see there potential (for me) You can do some amazing activities with them!

  5.   Wendy Says:

A very hands on activity, will keep working on it!

Can’t wait to get started next year Because I found it a bit more difficult to do as I dont have one this year. But I do next year. Thanks Mary! I am a practical learner and because i couldn’t do it practically it took me a few attempts. Thank goodness for re-sits.

Again very straight forward especially as I have a tablet and used one supplied by my previous school. The students really enjoy learning to write using the special pen on the computer. Very easy step by step instructions.

Just started. It’s a “biggy”. Not really hard, it just takes time. Also not as fun as the other challenges. However, if it increases my chances of getting an IWB, then all’s good!

  9.   cth Says:

Hurrah! Just completed it and have my certificate! I just need an IWB to use my newly gained skills on. Pleeeeeeeeese!

  10.   bro1 Says:

I got there in the end after a sitting the tests a few times! : )
Looking forward to using an interactive whiteboard in the upcoming years!

  11.   Bex Says:

This is a really long task, could be spread over two weeks?

  12.   mary Says:

Everyone should be doing this in our school as a minimum requirement. But I agree it does take longer.. but worth it if you get a IWB!!!

  13.   alyssa Says:

Managed to make it through this task without having a) an interactive whiteboard or b) activstudio software installed on my Mac, but having used Promethean before and been through in-school hands- on training sessions at YIS, it wasn’t too hard.
Will probably need to go through the tutorials again once I get my hands on that new IWB and have a real one to practice on.

love my iwb, need to spend some time making flipcharts, maybe you and Katie should create some for the lessons she takes with classes.
