Week #5 – Reading Blogs

We’re halfway there guys! You deserve a pat on the back!

This week we’re focusing on all the wonderful information and ideas you can get from blogs. A lot of people ask me, Where do you get your ideas?” Most of the time I get them from other people’s blogs (see, I’m not really that clever after all).

People write blogs about all kinds of things, so it’s relatively easy to find a blog about something you’re interested in.

For this week’s tasks, we’re going to have you read and explore a range of blogs related to education (mostly!). We hope you will find something to interest and inspire you.

Heartbreaking reading and also a few fill of laughs. Great when people take the time to chronicle their thoughts.

Still needing to differentiate between the blogs that actually are quite good or just people liking the sound of their own voice. There is good out there, its just a case of finding it. A bit like the internet, really, you have to sift through a load of dross to get the nuggets. But blogs can pull up some great fruity bonuses, but talking of fruity, by this stage I had seen a pattern in the fruitiness of ‘fruity fridays’ and I noticed that the fruit was only being delivered when homeroom teachers needed to go to their classes, so discriminating against non-SSTs in the fruitiness of their Fridays…

not sure about blogs – who really cares what Demi and Aston have to say???

I do like the educational ones though – there are some great ideas out there!

Did spent some time reading the recommended blogs- In fact I have spent about 3 hrs reading one particular one, and realised that people do put lots of efforts into their blog

I’m not really a bloggy girl.

have found so far that I am only interested in blogs of people I know. Not sure that I was always like that people have freedom to say what they like on a blog while being unknown.

If we are meant to be commenting on the instructions and ability to understand the task – all the explainationsof the tasks have been great. This one was more time consuming as Luke said you have to sift through the rubbish to find the gems.

I am not massively into the blogs thingy but can see how there is some good stuff out there.

Great to use for friends and families back home to keep them updated. We have used one to keep our families updated on our impending arrival. : )

need to synthesise the blogs a lot-if it’s education, Keri-Lee and Katie are a fountain of knowledge! I tend not to go for blogs but maybe I am missing out on something…

I think blogs are great and visit my friend’s blogs often – some educational and some just to keep far away friends and family up to date on what’s going on. I don’t have one of my own, but would really like to push my team next year to use blogs as a way of keeping parents informed about what is going on in individual classrooms. Not sure how they will feel about that!

my reader has about 400 unread posts, but i do get alot of good resources from them. My own blog however, has died a slow death. Need to start a new one that does not include my name
