Week #3 – Getting More Social

This week we are going to look at the power of social bookmarking. Signing up is one thing, but actually getting the full value is another!

This week we want you to explore the following:

The more people you add to your network, the easier it is find new and interesting sites to bookmark. We already know a lot of East staff who have signed up to Delicious, so adding them to your network is important.

We add tags to each site we bookmark so we can find it again easily. Each site can have numerous tags.

Explore the beauty of tag clouds such as the one I created below of my top 10 tags on Delicious, using wordle. You can see a tag cloud of your tags on Delicious (which is explained in the Apprentice challenge).

    I did most of this as a follow-up to doing week 1, the delicious activity. As a week itself, i found it quite a nice respite where I could build on previous PD opps.

    not sure i am into the whole thing of reading everyone else’s blogs, networks etc. i like checking out the latest and greatest though – there are some very cool websites! So I guess I am kind of sharing with others!

    I like to look at what other people are looking at but don’t feel that anyone would really want to know what I am looking at…does that make sense?

    Again I already had a delicious account but use it much more now. Very clear and saves time.

    Need to keep checking in on delicious, as there are great ideas there, but finding the time to browse through is difficult.

    although i like delicious, I Hate the tool bar. my sensitive mouse keeps taking me to a stupid bookmark i made, when really i’m clicking on my email link
